Dr DOMINIK SCHLOSSHAN – pResident

Dr Dominik Schlosshan is a Consultant Cardiologist in cardiac imaging at the Yorkshire Heart Centre in Leeds. He is clinical lead for cardiac imaging and one of the largest valve clinics in the UK.

Dr Alison duncan – secretary

Dr Alison Duncan (MB BS BSc PhD FRCP) is Associate Specialist in Cardiology and Transcatheter Valve Therapies at The Royal Brompton Hospital.

Dr Tom Cahill is a Consultant Cardiologist based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He has extensive experience in general cardiology and a subspecialist interest in heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, and structural heart disease.

Dr Madalina Garbi – immediate past president

Dr Madalina Garbi is a consultant cardiologist with expertise in echocardiography and heart valve disease at the Royal Papworth Hospital. Previously, she held a similar position at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London and was an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at King’s College London and the Echocardiography Training and Education Lead for the South London Deanery.

Carmelia demetrescu – ACCREDITATION CHAIR

I am a Consultant Clinical Scientist in Cardiology, and Joint Clinical Lead for Diagnostics and Outpatients at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS trust. I have 28 years NHS work experience in advanced echocardiography methodologies, with a specialist interest in valve disease, interventional cardiology, inherited cardiomyopathies, and heart failure.  

Dr LAURA DOBSON – EX OFICIO

Dr Laura Dobson is a Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in Echocardiography and Valvular Heart Disease at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

Dr Saadia Aslam – DIGITAL LEAD

Dr Saadia Aslam is Clinical Fellow in Cardiac Imaging at St Thomas’ Hospital and a cardiology trainee in Yorkshire.

DR ANNA REID – BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Anna Reid is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Manchester Heart Institute, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, performing both cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. She is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. She is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and a member of numerous educational, scientific programme and quality and safety committees.

mS CHARLOTTE TURNER – COUNCIL MEMBER/CARDIAC PHYSIOLOGY

Miss Charlotte Turner is a Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist, with specialist interest and expertise in heart valve disease, based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. She has a first-class Honours degree in Cardiac Physiology, a Master’s degree in diagnostic imaging and is currently undertaking a Masters module in pathophysiology and clinical assessment at the University of Swansea.

Professor Vassilios Vassiliou – Communications LEAD

Prof Vassilios Vassiliou is a Clinical Professor in Cardiac Medicine at the University of East Anglia and an honorary consultant cardiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Professor Daniel blackman – BCIS Representative

Professor Dan Blackman MBChB MD MRCP is Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Leeds, and Chairman of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society Structural Heart Group.
