The guidance has been developed in partnership with the following organisations:

  • British Cardiovascular Society
  • British Heart Valve Society
  • Heart Valve Voice
  • Primary Care Cardiovascular Society

Professor Dan Augustine, President of the BSE, said “This update of the triage guidance has been a big project, bringing together eleven national societies to offer contemporary, specialist advice on echocardiography triage. It’s important that we have had input from primary and secondary care and I’d like to thank all of the society representatives for their help.”

Dr Madalina Garbi, President of the British Heart Valve Society, said “We welcome this comprehensive triage guidance aiming to improve access to echocardiography for patients with heart valve disease. BHVS helped shape the guidance in support of the society’s aim of improving care for patients with heart valve disease in the UK.”
