Specialist valve activity
Perform TTEs in doctor-led valve clinic. Working towards leading implementation of Physiologist led valve clinic. Internally trained with training visits to regional centre. Attendance at regional heart valve training days and networking events. Perform TTE’s (including bubble and contrast studies, assist with TOE’s. Participate in pre-clinic MDT’s.
ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC EXPERTISE
Competent in transthoracic, contrast and bubble echocardiography. >250 TTE performed/year. Lead Physiologist led stress echo sessions.
The department performs >600 stress echo/year (including valve stress). Routine use of stand alone Doppler, 3d echo and semi-quantitative methods of assessing MR.
Research
Currently participating in a project entitled ‘Non invasive Heamodynamics to guide Pacemaker programming’ (Leeds University).
