Specialist valve activity
I lead a weekly valve MDM with consultant cardiologists, cardiac physiologists, GPs, Trainees, medical students. I lead a specialist valve clinic seeing 6 new and 20 follow-up patients each week. The unit performs 30 TAVI, 5 transcatheter paraprosthetic leak closures, and 1 transcatheter mitral valve procedures each year. We perform 50-100 valve stress echocardiograms, 200 valve CT and 400 valve CMR each year.

Moderate and severe native valve disease, post-endocarditis and post intervention, Mitral prolapse and bicuspid aortic valves

Process
There are links with heart failure services. One-stop echo always available. The BHVS book is used for patient information. There are no physiologist or nurse-led devolved clinics.
